It all began with the Women’s Canadian Historical Society of Ottawa (WCHSO) who collected artifacts that related to history of Bytown (Ottawa). The museum charts the origins of Ottawa and the Rideau Canal. The museum is small, on three floors of an old storehouse, but offers headsets that describe the exhibits and really bring the development of the city and canal to life.
